The Work I Do...

LIFE MODELLING

The majority of work I'm asked to do is as a nude or partially-clothed model for life classes and indivdual artists. If the artist or tutor has a particular pose in mind then I'll work to that, and I also have a repertoire of practised poses - naturalistic, classical or more contorted - that I can use. I enjoy doing the series of quick poses that a lot of tutors 'warm-up' the class with, as that can give me the opportunity to make some stranger shapes and stretch my body a bit. I like to keep fit - I work out with my own weights, swim and cycle regularly.

PORTRAIT MODELLING

Sitting for portrait classes is always enjoyable and feels very different to life work. Artists I've worked with have often commented on my ability to sit still for a long time! If the job is more clothes or character-based then I'll sometimes discuss the 'look' I'll adopt with the tutor beforehand. I have a good and colourful selection of clothes specifically for modelling work - contemporary, retro, sports - and access to a variety of theatrical costumes if requested.

PHOTOGRAPHIC MODELLING

Recently I have had a growing number of assignments as a professional photographic model - both nude and clothed - and have appeared in books, magazines, on the net and in advertising campaigns. Working to a camera is a very different experience to life modelling, but rewarding. I like the experience of being directed by a good photographer and helping to get the pictures they need.

TELEVISION AND FILM

There are two aspects to my film and TV work. I have appeared several times as a life model, either being filmed at work or providing body-shots for documentaries and dramas. I have also acted in many films and TV shows. People have said I have a good face for historical parts, which can be fun as I love any excuse to dress up and have been given some amazing outfits to wear. I started as a walk-on but slowly I've been able to add more high-profile, featured and speaking roles to my CV. Watch this space!

Other experience includes work as a body-cast model for special effects companies, green-screen work for film, in-store fashion modelling and taking part in performance art projects.
